Addie Statira Bridgman was born and spent most of her life on her father's farm on South Road in Westhampton. She attended the local one-room schoolhouse and Northampton High School. She taught school for a short time (around 1887) in Putney, Vermont, and then in the Hill School in Westhampton. She spent the remainder of her life with her parents and her brother Fred's family on South Road. In 1921, she suffered a shock and was an invalid until her death. For the last year of her life she was a patient at the Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. It is said that she had an outgoing and cheerful personality.
