George Washington Taylor enlisted in the military in 1861 in Padusky, Ky. He was in the 40th Ill. Infantry Regiment. He was discharged in 1862 because of a Hernia. He was a Private at that time. He was admitted to the Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in 1895. He died Aug 2, 1905 of stomach cancer.
