Mrs. Mabel Schultz, 92, a resident of the Herman area for 81 years years, died December 21, 1981, at the hospital in Wheaton, of a heart attack.

She was born July 4, 1889, in Humboldt County, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Richards. She moved with her parents to the Herman area in 1900.

She and George Schultz were married in 1912, the farmed four miles south of Herman. George died in 1955, Mabel moved into Herman in 1961.

She was a charter member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Herman, and of the Ladies’ Guild.

She is survived by one son, George of Mound; by two daughters, Dorothy Schultz and Mary Storey of Altadena, California; by one son-in-law, Hal Storey; by two daughters-in-law, Rita Schultz of Herman and Audrey Schultz of Mound; and twenty one grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; one son, Fred; four grandchildren; her parents; eight brothers; and three sisters, she is the last of the Richard H. Richards children.

Services were held December 24th at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. Stan Wieser officiating. Interment will be at St. Charles Cemetery.
