Anna Mae Hutchings, 98, of Seymour, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born April 2, 1914 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Michael and Caroline Minasola.

She married John Hutchings in Milton, Florida on August 10, 1938, and he preceded her in death, April 27, 1963.

Anna was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Anna loved cooking and dancing. She loved to watch Lawrence Welk and listen to big band music. A huge part of Anna's life revolved around baseball and John's professional baseball career. She often traveled with him during his major league baseball career, with the highlight of watching John pitch while winning the 1940 World's Series in Cincinnati. She enjoyed attending the Indianapolis Indians baseball games while John was a member of the team as a player and coach. Her greatest enjoyment came from being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna was a devoted wife and mother who left a legacy of love to her family.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Richard) Redmond and Tom (Jackie) Hutchings; grandchildren, Tom Carrico; John Hutchings III; Teresa Blendin, Carrie (Darren) Green, Debbie Berry; Kathy (Spencer) Sunbury; Amy Hutchings; Courtney Hutchings, David (Kyle) Redmond; Chris Carrico; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Marie Bova; and thirteen nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, John Hutchings Jr.; daughter, Darlene Tingle; sisters, Christina Lombardo, Josephine Henkle, Frances Demore; brother, Ben Minasola; and granddaughter, Barbara Carrico.

Funeral services will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 22, at 10:00 AM with Deacon Mike East officiating.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN on Tuesday at approximately 1:30 PM.
