Kaye was a person who truly enjoyed caring for others. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for Fostoria Community Hospital, Dr. Ulicny, and Good Shepherd Home, all in Fostoria. She was actively involved in the Boy Scouts with her sons for more than 23 years, serving as a den mother and in various district positions. In 1980, she became the first woman to receive the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award in scouting. Kaye was a tremendous cake maker, baking wedding cakes for more than 30 years for friends and family. She also liked to play bingo and found her greatest enjoyment in the love of her family. She was a 1956 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Risingsun, and the Nightingales nurses group in Fostoria.
