German actor. Acting mostly on stage, Almas appeared in only seven films, in various countries in Europe, from 1927 to 1948. He fled Germany in 1934, working in Czechoslovakia and Switzerland, and ultimately settling in England during World War II. He returned to Berlin after the war, and died there after making his last film, Morituri (1948).
