Civil War: Company B, 7th California Infantry

Abram W. Lewis, age 26 years, enlisted at Marysville, California, October 29 and mustered in as private of Captain Alexander Gibson's Company B, 7th California Infantry, at Marysville, October 31, 1864. Private Lewis was discharged at the Presidio of San Francisco, California, April 26, 1866.

Veteran Resident of Marysville Passes to Rest. Father of Mrs. Clark Standiford Dies at His Home.
Marysville, November 15. Ex-Councilman Abram W. Lewis departed this life at the family residence in this city at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon after a lingering illness, of heart complaint. He was a native of New York State, and 69 years of age. Mr. Lewis served as County Hospital steward under Dr. E. E. Stone five years. He sorted as Alderman from the First Ward under Mayor F. H. Greely in 1886-87. Four sons Edward, Walter, Arthur and Everett Lewis and two daughters Mrs. Clark Standiford, of Oroville, and Miss Edna Lewis, of this city survive, besides his wife.
