GULFPORT --- John Wesley Vandiver Sr., age 83, of Gulfport, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in Pascagoula.
Mr. Vandiver retired from the U.S. Air Force and had spent his retirement years on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oda Mary (Varnado) Vandiver; and a son, John Wesley Vandiver Jr.
Survivors include his daughter, Janet Louise Walsh of Atlanta, George; granddaughters, Jennifer Vandiver and Jamie Arroya of Saucier, Mississippi; great-grandson, John Wesley Arroya; sisters, Gartie of Humnoke, Arkansas, and Arwilda Easler of North Augusta, South Carolina.
The family will receive friends after 12 noon on Saturday, April 17, at the Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North in Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, followed by interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
