Mrs. Killian worked as a secretary for Whitmyer Brothers, Inc. for many years until its sale to J. Fletcher Creamer & Son Inc. where she continued to work for a few years. She served on the Atlantic County Election Board for the Borough of Folsom for many years. She was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church. Marie served many years as a Sunday School teacher and member of both church council and choir. Marie was very active and volunteered her time for many organizations. Marie belonged to and volunteered for Lady's Aid, Red Cross, Republican Club, Canoe Club, Folsom Historical Society...many more.
Marie was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Killian; three brothers, Earl Schellhas, William Schellhas and Paul Schellhas; three sisters, Elizabeth O'Donnell, Dorothy Derstine and Helen Kiger. She is survived by two brothers and their wives, Edward and Dorcas Schellhas, Russell and Augusta Schellhas, all of Folsom; and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 from 7:00pm-9:00pm and Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 from 9:30am-10:30am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 6. 2013 at 11:00am at St. James Lutheran Church, 1341 Mays Landing Road, Folsom, NJ 08037.
