Montezuma Record - 11-27-1913

FLORENCE KELLER HAPPILY WED

Florence Keller put one over on her friends, Monday by quietly going to Montezuma where at 9 a.m. she was united in marriage with D.W. Barns of Grinnell. The coming event had not been shouted from the housetops as is too common with people approaching such an important event in their lives, but like a sensible girl, she kept her own council and made her arrangements so quietly that even those closely associated with her were not wise as to her intentions.

Another unusual feature about this wedding is the fact that after the ceremony the groom hastened back to his work in Grinnell while the bride accompanied her father to her home here and set about the work of collecting her belongings, preparation to going to the home her husband had arranged for her in Grinnell.

Mrs. Keller served a sort of family and get together dinner, Thanksgiving, at which the new member of the family sat down, which served as his formal introduction to the various members and branches of the family.

The young people go to their home in Grinnell on Friday where they will be at home to their friends after Dec. 1st.

The Record joins a host of friends in congratulating Florence and wishes her a long life and a properous one. Of her nothing need be said. She is too well known to need special mention. The groom is a thrifty, industrious young man, who was born and raised in Grinnell. He is foreman for the Clark Lumber company and is a trusted and valued employee.
