Vincent L. Knedgen, 48, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Parsons, died at 8:40 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2007, at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa.

He was born July 14, 1958, in Parsons, Kansas, to William L. and Lorene L. (Burlingame) Knedgen.

He grew up in Parsons where he attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and graduated from Parsons High School in 1976. For a time, he attended Wichita State University and then the University of Tulsa where he graduated with honors in 2005 having earned a Bachelor of Art Degree in Graphic Design. His last semester of college was spent studying in Italy. He had worked for Southwestern Bell as an auto cad specialist for 24 years. He had planned to become a fulltime art teacher in public schools in the fall.

His hobbies included traveling, religious art and playing the piano. He also had a genuine love for nature and animals, especially his two dogs, Ralph and Sam. At a young age, he enjoyed competing in art fairs. One of his proudest accomplishments was authoring a book titled Le Celle. He truly enjoyed the holidays and cherished spending time with his family.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons.

He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Dana Sevart, on July 14, 2003.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2007, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parsons. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends following the Rosary.
