Ardis lived to be 92. She was born in Drake, North Dakota to Dan and Elsie Senechal, but moved to Richmond in the mid-1940's with her husband, Harald.

She held North Dakota State tennis titles in the 40's, continuing to play until age 80. She worked at the Richmond YMCA in the 60's and had a successful career as a realtor in the 70's and 80's. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Richmond before joining Christ Lutheran Church.

Ardis was a dedicated, involved mother who was passionate about education, but insisted knowledge without compassion and kindness was hollow. She encouraged family to search out the good that exists in everyone and the importance of a positive approach to life.

Ardis was preceded in death by Harald, siblings Clem, Leonard, Alton, Buck and Pearl. She is survived by children, Pat (Charles) of Mill Valley, Doug (Sherry) of Idaho, Greg (Jann) of Sebastopol, and Jeff (Laurie) of Chico, grandchildren, Jennifer, John, Rachel, Emily, Brittany and Teddy, and great-grandchilden Grace and Riley.

Service will be held on Monday, Dec 31st at Christ Lutheran Church, 780 Ashbury Ave, El Cerrito. Visitation at 10 am, Service 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
