Obituary from the Wayne County Press, 4/6/1987:

Ruby Louisa Davis, 93, of Fairfield died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 1987 at the Heritage Convalescence Center in Paris, IL from infirmities of age.

Mrs. Davis had suffered a broken hip while visiting her daughter in Paris and was preparing to return to her home in Fairfield in a short time according to a family member.

Services Saturday

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 am. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial to follow in the Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

She was born in Farnam, Nebraska on June 25, 1893, the daughter of Lincoln Grant and Emma (Applegate) Smith.

Mrs. Davis married Samuel Peter Jones in 1909 and he preceded her in death. She then married Elmer Shehorn in 1965 who also preceded her in death. In 1981 she married Seth Davis and he preceded her in death as well.
She attended school in Nebraska and at Sims, IL.

In her younger days she was an employed by Camps dress factory in Fairfield and was a floor lady at a factory at Wayne City.

She was a member of the Wayne City Christian Church.

The Survivors

Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Becker of Paris; one son, Eldon Jones of Ann Arbor, Mich. [1914-1996]; one sister, Corabel Power of Mill Shoals; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one step-grandson, Jay Fyie of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, one daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
