John Robinson Whitlock was the youngest child of George Washington Whitlock and Martha Francis (Mattie) ROBERTSON Whitlock who were my second great-grandparents. His siblings included my great-grandmother, Littia Anna WHITLOCK Duty, George Washington Whitlock, Henry Whitlock, and Sarah Elizabeth Whitlock.

John Whitlock, who was the uncle to my grandfather, Ernest Samuel Duty, was married to Bertha EVANS Whitlock, daughter of Edward Evans and Kate GRAY Evans. John and Bertha became the parents to several children during their marriage, including daughters Lorene and Flarebelle, along with sons, Louis, John J., and Earl Whitlock.

John Robinson Whitlock was a farmer by trade as were several of his brothers and his parents before him.

John died in St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri succumbing to a coronary occlusion and other heart related problems. At the time, he was retired and living in Hickman Mills, Jackson County, Missouri.

Second great-uncle John was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife, and, at least, one child.

His survivors included several of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many other family members, and friends. He was loved and will be missed by many.
