Winna Bess Robbins, age 93, of Fort Stockton, died Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Fort Stockton Nursing Center. She was born in Assiniboia, Canada, to the late Ina Oxford and Edwin T. Camrud. She was raised with two sisters, Katie Texada and Barbara, in Stevenville, Texas, where she attended college and worked in her grandfather's law office. There, she met her future husband, James Phillip Robbins. They were married in 1937 and moved to the Pecos County ranch. She expanded her capabilities and raised two sons, Jim and David. She contributed significantly in many aspects of her community and was named First Lady of Fort Stockton in 1971. She was a very committed Christian and supported the Methodist Church. She is survived by son David and his wife Victor Gene, grandchildren, James Wesley Robbins, Nanette Lee Sorton, Bonnie Gene Stevenson, Stewart David Robbins, Christopher James Robbins, and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held beginning at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, July 06, in the First United Methodist Church of Fort Stockton. Interment will follow at the local East Hill Cemetery.
