CALEDONIA, Minn.--Dr. Garnet B. Belote, 75, former physician and surgeon here, died Saturday, June 29, at Pleasant Hill, Calif., after a long illness.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday here at the Potter-Haugen Funeral Home. Rev. Roger Gustafson will officiate, and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends were asked to call Tuesday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.
He was born April 19, 1888, in Graves County, Kentucky and came to Caledonia in 1914. He served as a captain in World War I, then returned here. He assisted the late Dr. William E. Browning until the latter died, when he took over Dr. Browning's practice.
He married Genevieve Stewart of Caledonia June 24, 1919. Dr. Belote left here in 1961 to live with his daughter, Mrs. John Sutherland, in Pleasant Hill. His wife preceding him in death.
Surviving are Mrs. John (Jean) Sutherland; one son, Dr. Stewart Belote, San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. F. E. Blackburn, Mayfield, Ky.

CALEDONIA, Minn. (Special) --Dr. Garnet B. Belote, 75, a former Caledonia physician and surgeon, died at Pleasant Hill, Calif., Saturday following a long illness.
He was born April 19, 1888, In Graves County, Ky.
He came here in 1914,. served in the World War I as a captain and returned to Caledonia. He first was an assistant to the late Dr. William E. Browning. After his death, Dr. Belote took over the practice.
He retired in 1943 because of ill health and moved to California in 1961 to make his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Sutherland, Pleasant Hill.
He is survived by Mrs. Jean Sutherland; one son, Dr. Stewart Belote, San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. F. E. Blackburn, Mayfield, Ky.
His wife, a daughter, three sisters and a brother have died.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Potter-Haugen Funeral Home, the Rev. Roger Gustafson officiating.
