Count not her journey in years
But by giant steps of Faith,
Her gifts of friendship,
Her loving heart.

--This is the way I will always remember you, Mrs. McDonald. All my love - Laura (1/26/2013).

ღ When I Must Leave You ღ

When I must leave you for a little while
Please do not grieve and shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you through the years
But start out bravely with a gallant smile;
And for my sake and in my name live on and do all things
the same,
Feed not your loneliness on empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways,
Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near;
And never, never be afraid to die,
For I am waiting for you in the sky!

ღ On Her First Angel Day ღ

Mrs. McDonald was and is the mother of one of my very few closest and "oldest" friends. There are not enough wonderful and positive things to be said about her. She was a loving wife, mother and friend, and a truly loving "second mother" to me; she was also a devout and sincere Christian lady. I was extremely fortunate that God placed the McDonald family in my life.

Thank you, dear Lord, for introducing me to my dear Karen and her family. If there are "forever friends," God placed the McDonalds in that hallowed category, and graced me with this unique and loving friendship.

I know that a year ago today, Mrs. McDonald, you were happily reunited, after a long absence, with your beloved husband. I was so sad, all those years ago, when he passed away. He treated me like a daughter, too, and I'm a better person for having known your entire family.

God, and Jesus our Savior, has blessed you all with the knowledge your family will be completely reunited one day.

Please watch over your daughters, as they are having a difficult time, and the rest of your family, and know that you are forever loved.

Thank you for being the wonderful lady you were, for being my "mother", for being my friend, for having fun and laughing *with* me, rather than laughing *at* me -- and for everything else I simply cannot remember at this moment.

May the Lord our God bless and keep you and Mr. McDonald forever in His loving arms.

All my love -- forever,
Laura
