Virginia Willoughby

The funeral service for longtime Henry County Farm Bureau employee Virginia Willoughby of Paris was scheduled at noon today at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Roger Banks, preacher at Van Dyke Church of Christ, was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Henry City Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers were Jacob, Chris and Austin Willoughby, Ronald Willoughby Jr., and John and Jaret Brewer.

Visitation was Sunday and today.

Willoughby, 87, died Thursday, April 6, 2012, at Paris Health Care Center.

A Carroll County native, she was born Nov. 23, 1924, in McKenzie, a daughter of the late John Hubert "Pete" Bowden and Donna Mai Malone Bowden.

She was formerly married to Robert E. Willoughby, who died in 2006.

Willoughby was a longtime member of East Wood Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Cottage Grove High School and Draughon's Business College in Paducah. In addition to working at Henry County Farm Bureau for 32 years, she also worked at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office and at Holley carburetor plant.

She leaves three sons: Ronald Keith (Carol) Willoughby, Dale Malone (Paula) Willoughby and Robert Bowden Willoughby, all of Paris; five grandchildren: Ronald Keith (Sonia) Willoughby Jr., Amanda (Brad) Sanders, and Whitney, Jacob and Chris Willoughby; and seven great-grandchildren.
