Charles Dixon

Glouster - Charles W. Dixon, 60, of 35 Locust St., died Wednesday night in O'Bleness Memorial Hospital. Born in Athens County, he was a son of the late Charles W. Sr. and Deliaha Losey Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a member of the Murray City Pentecostal Church, was a World War II veteran and had been a coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Harriett Clark Dixon; two sons, Charles of Nakomis, Fla.; and James of McConnelsville; eight daughters, Mrs. Betty Williams, Mrs. Carolyn Kisor, Mrs. Billie Jo Miner, and Mrs. Janie Strausbaugh, all of Glouster; Mrs. Alice Mae Ronk, Amesville; Mrs. Shirley Benedict, Trimble; Mrs. Mary Jennings and Mrs. Deliaha Dixon, both of Cleveland; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Blackwell and Mrs. Mary Pritchard, both of Canton; a brother, John of Glouster.
A son, a daughter and two sisters preceded him on death.
Services will be Saturday.1 p.m. in the Van Fossen Funeral Home with burial in Glouster Cemetery.
