WARREN - Pearl Jane Beckley, 90, of Warren, went to be with her Lord Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley.
She was born April 29, 1923, in Hagerstown, Md., a daughter of the late Frank L. and Bertha Hanswrote Welty. She married the Rev. J. Edgar Beckley Jr. on Dec. 20, 1940. She was a homemaker, member of Champion Baptist Church and served as pastor's wife for 50 years.
Memories of Pearl will be forever cherished by her daughter, Andrea (Russ) Houck of Champion; son, Philip (Peggy) Beckley of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Beckley of Binghamton, N.Y.; sister, Anna Nunemaker of Hagerstown, Md.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. J. Edgar Beckley Jr.; son, J. Edgar Beckley III; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held noon Saturday at Champion Baptist Church, 556 Center St., Warren, OH 44481, where Pastor Keith Easton will officiate and grandson Jeff Beckley will deliver the eulogy. Family and friends are kindly invited to visit from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. Pearl will be laid to rest in Champion Township Cemetery, Champion.
The family requests that any material contributions be made to Champion Baptist Church, 556 Center St., Warren, OH 44481, in her memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
