*Daily Oklahoman, The (Oklahoma City, OK) - October 23, 1988 *GALANIS, Leo Jr., age 43, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 1988 in Colorado. He was born Aug. 19, 1945 in Bradford, Pa. and had spent 4 years as pilot reporter for KWTV in OKC. He was the founder and president of the National Broadcast Pilot's Assn. and earned many awards for his work. He was a faculty member of the NPPA Workshop and served as a deputy sheriff for Okla. and Pottawatomie Counties. Leo changed lives. We grieve greatly for those that will never get to know him, to be loved by his heart. Our pain will one day be gone and we can live with the treasured memory of his touch on our lives. Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of the home; a son, Phillip Burgess, Jr. and daughter, Lori Burgess, both of OKC; parents, Leo C. and Mary Galanis of Bradford, Pa.; a brother, Dean Galanis of Hartford, Ct.; sisters, Elaine Bryan of Greensburg, Pa., Barbara Manos of Margate, N.J. and Katherine McCusker of Flinton, Pa. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 1988 at the Guardian North Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24 at the Guardian North Chapel, with Father Demetri Kangelaris officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. George
