Isabell Cora Martin was one of five children born to Joseph James Martin (1874-1945) and Cora Elizabeth Marks (1882-1955) on February 20, 1908 in Escanaba, Delta County, Michigan. Cora's siblings:
1)Lawrence Bernard (1900-1951)
2)Violet Rose Martin (1905-1979)
3)Genevieve Marley Martin Wallace (1916-1979) (Gordon Belden Wallace)
4)UNK infant (b. between 1900+1910)
The Martin family remained in Michigan until sometime around 1916. They are known to have lived in Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin and Mt. Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois before permanently settling in Tomah, Monroe County, Wisconsin by the time Isabelle's father and brother registered for WWI Draft Registration in September 1918. Isabelle and her future husband, Gordon Belden Wallace, lived in Tomah in the 1920s and both went to college in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin in the late 1920s. They married on July 11, 1931 in Cook County, Illinois and settled in the Village of Wilmette, New Trier Township, Cook County, Illinois for at least the next ten years. Here is where their two children were born:
1)Nancy W. Wallace Peters (b.1932 ) (Leo Peters)
2)Scott Belden Wallace (b. 1940).
They returned to Tomah in later years. She passed away on June 23, 1979 in Tomah.

Census Information
In the 1940 census, she was living in Wilmette, Cook, Illinois with her husband, Gordon, and daughter, Nancy I. She was listed as a 32-year-old, married, white female.
