Alexander A. WEATHERWAX was the eldest living child of Andrew and Olive (VAN DER COOK) WEATHERWAX. He was born 19 June, 1792, probably in Pittstown, Albany (now Rensselaer) Co., New York. He was baptized 8 July, 1792 at the historic old Gilead Lutheran Church at Brunswick, New York. He married Ruth STERNS on 23 March, 1815. They had three sons: Andrew, born 18 Feb., 1817 (plot 193); Jasiel/Jasial (plot 157,) born 18 July, 1819 and Cates C., born 26 May, 1821. Ruth Sterns Weatherwax died 27 February, 1822. According to the WEATHERWAX Family Bible Records from which this information is taken, Alexander A. WEATHERWAX died 18 August, 1837. The stone in Morrison Cemetery CLEARLY says 1838. A possible stonecutter's mistake? I suppose we will never know for sure. Alex A. WEATHERWAX was the eldest brother of John WEATHERWAX and Henry VanDerCook WEATHERWAX who ar also buried in Morrison. Their sister, Sally WEATHERWAX FRANCISCO, is buried in Peek Cemetery, Florence Township, St. Joseph Co., MI.
