Richard "Dick" K. DeWitt, 70, of Logansport, passed away at 12:13 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 24, 1942, in Rochester, to the late Charles C. and Marjorie G. (Shambarger) DeWitt. On May 28, 1966, in Logansport, Dick married Carol Ristedt, who survives.

He was the owner and operator of West Side Transmission Repair. Dick was a 1961 graduate of Logansport High School. He was a member of the NHRA, and enjoyed working on cars.

Surviving along with his wife, are one daughter, Cassie Grandstaff and fiance Tim Hodgini, Logansport; one son, Sean DeWitt, Royal Center; five grandchildren, Crystle Vaughan, Kokomo, Megan Vaughan, Tyler Grandstaff and Holland DeWitt, all of Logansport, and Brooklyn DeWitt, Cayuga; and one sister, Barbara (Jim) Raisor, Logansport.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Jan. 31, 2013, in the Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport, with Ed Johnson officiating.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today, Jan. 30, 2013 in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
