Son of Johann "John" George & Katharina Maurer (Koch). Brother of Barbara (1868), Barbara (1870), Georg, Katherine Marie & Johann Georg. In 1910, Adam & Gertrude Francis (Gullett) were married. They became parents of Itaska Katherine, Enasheu "Nash" James Monroe, Stanley "Dutch" Edward, Luther "Luke" Harding & Adelene "Addie" Nola. Adam immigrated from Neuschwetzingen, Germany in 1869 to Little River, KS. With a team of horses borrowed from his great uncle, Adam participated in the Cherokee Strip Land Run; the claim he staked was already filed on 80 acres of the 160; he & his great uncle split the 80 acres; Adam sold his 40 acres & returned to Kansas where he became a ranch foreman. In 1902 he bought land north of Murray (Rosston, OK). He died on his farm in 1954.
