Glenna Mae Campbell, 97, Bethany, MO (recently of St. Joseph), departed this life on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at a St. Joseph, MO hospital.
She was born February 21, 1913 in Gentry County, Missouri, the daughter of Mark and Ollie (Campbell) Berry. She lived most of her life in Bethany.
She married Roy Jennings and later Homer Campbell, both preceded her in death.
Glenna loved living on the farm and had great empathy and love for animals of all kinds. In her late 80's, she was still providing for the birds, squirrels, and other animals in winter. She once nursed an injured opossum to health. She was especially fond of dogs and she had many over the years that she adored. Her last companion was "Sassy", who she had rescued several years ago as a kitten. Sassy passed a few months ago.
Glenna missed her parents and siblings, Ruby, Gladys, Truman (Budge), Lee, Maxine, and Eldon (Bear) very much and is happily reunited at last!
She will be greatly missed by her caretakers, LaVerne and Kerry Berry; several nieces and nephews; her Immanuel Baptist church family; many friends and neighbors; and her step-daughter, Latricia Jennings.
In her memory, please do a kind act for an animal in your life.
