Ethel Betty Anderson
92 of Loma Rica passed away January 31, 2013. Born in La Porte on July 27, 1920 she was a lifetime Yuba-Sutter resident. She was a cattle rancher for 86 years and was a member of the Loma Rica Grange. She rode on the cattledrives for over 50 years from the Scott Ranch in Browns Valley to above La Porte which took more than 5 days. She loved the ranch life with her cattle, horses & dogs.

Ethel is survived by her daughters: Melba Adamson of Hallwood and Patty Anderson of Loma Rica, grandchildren: Fred Adamson & his wife Tami, Michelle Adamson, Brian Nix and his wife Wendy, and Casey Ellyson & her husband Ryan, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Melvin Anderson, sister Carrie Gladys Poor, father: Oscar Beever, and her mother & step-father: Emma & James Scott.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Peoria Cemetery, Browns Valley, California with Bishop Dean Ellyson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Loma Rica, California officiating. Burial will be at Peoria Cemetery in Browns Valley, California. Contributions may be made to the Yuba-Sutter Cattlewomens, P.O. Box 402, Oregon House, CA 95962. A reception will follow the services at the Foothill Lions Club on Fruitland Rd, Loma Rica. Arrangements are under the direction of Lipp & Sullivan Funeral Directors.
