He was born in Altoona, son of the late John Sr. and Gertrude (Buck) Kelley.
Surviving are a daughter, Robin Fiore (Dan) of Altoona; two sons: John W. in North Carolina and Kevin Michael of Altoona; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Sarah Burket and Ernest L., both of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis; three brothers: Jake, Jim and Don; three sisters: Mid, Edna and Carrie; and his wife, Catherine V. (Larrimore).
John was a graduate of Altoona High School and retired from Ward Trucking Corp. after more than 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion Post 10, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2056 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4048, all of Kissimmee, Fla.
John was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially being their unofficial Disney guide.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions be made in John's memory to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
