Gilman Bradley Savage, 96, died January 26, 2013 at Weeks Medical Center.
Mr. Savage was born in Lancaster on November 25, 1916 the son of Rollo H. and Jessie (Gallagher) Savage.
He was survived by his wife Hazel Ruth (Currier) Savage of Lancaster. They were married on Hazel's birthday April 15, 1943. They had 6 wonderful children, 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. He loved his wife and all his children and grandchildren very much.
Gilman was a very proud dairy farmer. He enjoyed being in an open hayfield, building fences, milking cows and working side by side with his son Bruce. He would take his grandchildren for rides in the tractors and tell them fantastic stories of his life. They all learned a great deal from this wonderful man.
Gilman was one of the few people who really enjoyed what he did for a living. He was able to be with his family and work a job that he really loved. They feel fortunate to have been a part of his family and life. He was loved very much and will be missed just as much.
Gilman was predeceased by his oldest son Richard Savage in February of 1989. Richard was awarded the Purple Heart for his service in Viet Nam.
Other surviving family members include his second son: Edward Savage and wife Loretta of Vermont, they have 2 daughters; Wendy Berkowitz and husband Dana along with their 3 children Justin, Quintin, and Camden all of Vermont; Sharney and her children Dustin, Brendan, Mindy who has a son Dominic all of Vermont. Gilman's third son Daniel Savage and wife Jessie of Lancaster, their children include Danny Jr. of Lancaster and his fiancée Shayna Raymond, their children Kaydren, Kandrah and John; Shawn Savage and his wife Holly Brown and their children Makayla and Dominic all of Gilman; Emily Savage and boyfriend Jason Ruggles of NH; Johnathan Savage and fiancée Vanessa Brown of NH; Carol Savage and fiancée David Thurston along with children Keagan and Tristan of NH; Bradley Savage and Stacey Savage of MA: Gilman's oldest daughter Sharon Savage of Plymouth: Gilman's youngest son Bruce Savage and wife Robin of Lancaster, their children Bruce Savage II, Matthew Savage, Lindsey Savage, T.J Fontaine and wife Tiesha of Standish, ME; Savanah Turgeon and husband Jeff of Berlin: Barbara Swift and husband Josh of Norwich, VT; Bruce and Robin's grandchildren Bailey Lucian Fontaine, Seth Joseph Savage, Hailey Alyssa Savage, Kyliegh Swift, Logan Jeffery Turgeon, Samantha Lee Turgeon: and Gilman's youngest daughter Jennie Cantin and fiancé Robert Lund and sons Kory and Dylan of Lunenburg.
