Services are today for Donald Ogden, 80
Services for Donald Ogden, a longtime airline executive, will be at 2 p.m.
Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Mr. Ogden, 80, died Monday night of a stroke at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
Mr. Ogden, a Lake Texoma resident, formerly of Dallas and Fort Worth, was vice president of flight operations for Southwest Airlines from 1971 until his retirement in 1981.
A 1934 graduate of Louisiana State University, Mr. Ogden served with the U.S. Army Air Corps before joining American Airlines as a pilot. He was with American 35 years, including a stint as director of flight standards. "When he first went with American Airlines, they were just barely getting off the ground,' said Cullen Y. Turner, Mr. Ogden's brother-in-law. "He just kind of grew into the administrative end of the airline business.' He was a Mason and a member of the Moslah Shrine Temple in Fort Worth.
Mr. Ogden is survived by his wife, Esther Ogden of Lake Texoma; a son, Steve Ogden of Fort Worth; a daughter, Ann Lebahn of Cleburne; and four
grandchildren.
