MOUNT ANGEL — Donald Dunn, 79, died Monday at his home.

He was born in Meda and attended Nestucca High School. In 1938 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and in 1940 he joined the Navy. He was chief petty officer until retiring in 1964. He then joined the Civil Service and lived in Kodiak, Alaska, until 1974 when he moved to Fairbanks, Alaska. He worked on the Alaska Pipeline until retiring in 1988. In 1992 he moved to Mount Angel. A son preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita, whom he married in 1947; daughters, Patricia Saling of Grand Terrace, Calif., and Jero Ercoline of Fairbanks, Alaska; son, John of Pasco, Wash.; sisters, Wilma Rowland of Oretown and Audrey Knotts of Lincoln City; caregiver, Bruce Reynolds of Mount Angel; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Cloverdale Presbyterian Church. Private interment was in Oretown Cemetery. Arrangements are by Waud’s Funeral Home in Tillamook. Contributions: Oretown Cemetery.
