"Beloved Matron Passes Away at her Residence

Mrs CA Carman Resident of Butte Many Years, is fifth Called.

Mrs. Catherine A. Carman, wife of Delbert, died this morning at the family residence, 715 Dakota Street.
Mrs. Carman was one of the most beloved ladies of this city, a matron who's first thought was the welfare of her home and whose activity in club life and the city had endeared her to many people. She had been a resident here for many years and raised her family in this city.

Besides her husband she is survived by four children: Veronica, Nellie, Owen and Delbert; her parents Mr. and Mrs. James White, and a sister Mrs Mary White* of Republic, Michigan; brothers David White in Spokane, Washington, Patrick White in Alaska and James, Michael, John and Frank, all of Butte.

She was an active member of the Ladies of the Maccabees and several other organizations in the city, as well as in the religious affairs of Saint Joseph's Church. The funeral will be held from the family residence Friday morning at 9:00, proceeding to Saint Joseph's Church, where high mass will be celebrated at 930 o'clock. Interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery."

Catherine White, was born in 1886, Republic, Marquette, Michigan, to James W. White and Catherine Foley. Catherine was the 7th of their 12 children.
On 20 April, 1904, in Republic, Catherine married Delbert Arthur Carman, son of William Henry Carman and Julia Squires.
Catherine and Delbert were the parents of 6 children: Delbert (1), Veronica, Nellie E., Owen, Delbert (2), and William.
Catherine apparently died shortly after giving birth to William.
