The marriage of Louisa Hall, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Hall to John Shelby took place in the living room of the house soon after it was finished. But sorrow entered the home too--Mrs. Shelby lived only a few years. She and her baby died there. It was because of that sorrow that Mr. and Mrs. Hall sold the house to Mr. and Mrs. J. W.
