He was born July 17, 1922, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a son of the late Alan Carrington and the late Mary Hornback Carrington Pruitt.
Stanley was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed farming, hunting, listening to country music, and spending time with his friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Pruitt; two brothers, Millard Carrington and Norman Carrington; and one sister, Blanche Schisler.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lora Thurman Carrington and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Kentucky, with Brother Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery in Salt Lick in Lewis County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013, and until the service hour on Thursday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street, Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
