Denise C. Poling Ashbaker Bowers was born November 8, 1946, in Philippi, daughter of Thomas and Betty Nutter Poling. She married first, Ronald C. Ashbaker and later John H. Bowers on February 14, 2009.
Surviving are her husband, John; sons, Gene (April) Spencer and Brad (Terri) Spencer; step-daughters, Gerri (Richie) Adcox, Terra (Ronnie) Edwards and Dawn Bowers; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; sister, Myra Hansford and nephew, Todd Hansford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald.
