Death was due, the Washington county coroner said, to a self-inflicted wound from a .32 caliber revolver. The coroner said she had apparently been dead since Friday night.
Mrs. Atiyeh lived alone. Her sons said she had been in ill health and despondent since the death of their father in August, 1944.
Mrs. Atiyeh was born Linda Ashley. She was married to George E. Atiyeh, a native of Syria, in Syria December 30, 1920. They came shortly thereafter to Portland where Mr. Atiyeh had joined his brother Aziz in the rug business in 1903.
Surviving are the three sons, Edward, Richard and Victor.
The body is at J. P. Finley & Sons mortuary.
