Virginia Allison Nolan, 96, a resident of Eagle Ridge Personal Care Home, Mill Hall, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Haven Rehab.
She was born in Howard on March 26, 1916, the daughter of the late Reuben and Lucy May Shope Heverly.
In September of 1941 in Hancock, Md., she married Archie M. Allison, who preceded her in death on April 18, 1975. Later in life, she married I.B. Nolan, who preceeded her in death.
She was a graduate of Howard High School.
Virginia was an active member of Flemington United Methodist Church. She was involved with Parent Teacher Associations and the Howard Civic Club.
Earlier in her life she was employed by Woolrich Woolen Mills of Howard, Lubelle's and the Smart Shop of Lock Haven.
She is survived by a son, Wayne (Ann) Allison of Flemington; two grandsons, Matthew (Tara) Allison of Great Falls, Va. and Todd (Julie) Allison of Harker Heights, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Lauren; one great-grandson, Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Larry Cole officiating at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. Burial will be in Schenck's Cemetery, Howard. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County SPCA or the Ross Library.
