Anthony Garnett Smith, Jr., a pioneer Upson County and Talbot County, Georgia.
They were the sons of the Rev. Anthony Garnett Smith, Sr. and Mary "Polly"
Allen Smith.

The following sketch of Cary Hull Smith and his family was compiled in the
1920s from the records of Sidney Daniel Smith:

"Cary Hull Smith, the son of Anthony Garnett Smith, Sr., was born in
Oglethorpe County, Georgia. He was the last born of ten children and when
five years old moved to Crawford County, Georgia with his father.

He married Sarah Amanda Jackson (1829-1900), the youngest child of Edmund and
Clara Jackson, and ten children were born to them.

He purchased a farm adjoining his father's, and after living there a few
years, moved to the town of Culloden to educate his children, living there
from 1857 until 1870 when he returned to his farm.

After all their children married and they were up in age, they lived with
their children. Amanda died at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Dollie
Deyerle, in 1900. Cary died at the home of Mrs. Sarah Searcy, also a daughter,
in 1902."
