MRS. HUGH SHAFER
Mrs. Josephine Shafer, 58, of the Lear Rd., West Batavia, died of a heart attack on Thursday, Feb. 14, 1992, two hours after she had been removed from the Genesee Memorial Hospital, Batavia, to the home of her son, Richard R. Shafer in Bethany. She had been hospitalized for a weak.
She was born in Springwater Jan. 12, 1894 and was a teacher in the Springwater and Conesus schools before serving as a practical nurse in the Hilltop Sanitarium, Batavia.
Survivors besides her husband and son are two grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted in the J. Leonard McAndrew Funeral Home Monday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Wylie Young, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in Springwater.
