OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)
Marian Lucille Mendenhall, 90, of 1201 Daly Drive, New Haven, Indiana, died Friday, February 11, 2005 at Harborside Healthcare in New Haven. She was born August 23, 1914 in Wabash, Indiana to Andrew and Anna (Rupley) Leland. She married Carlton Mendenhall on May 2, 1935 in Richvalley, Indiana; he died April 11, 1979.

She retired from Hichman Bindery in 1977. She was the Past District Deputy and Past Grand Secretary of Pythian Sisters. She was a member of National and local AARP and active in Rachel Circle of Christ United Methodist Church. Before leaving Wabash, she was a member of Progressive Extension Homemaker's Club, and their Indiana State Chorus. Among her favorite performances was traveling to the Hollywood Bowl where they performed along with the Purdue Glee Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Ann (Jack) Baker of New Haven; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son, four brothers, five sisters, a grandchild, and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 10:30am. Rev. Mark Day will officiate. Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.
