Darrell J. Borgic, 80, of Taylorville, formerly of Morrisonville, died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2003 in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville.
He was born August 7, 1922 in Pana, the son of John Andrew and Evelyn Marie Beyers Borgic. On February 12, 1947 he married Martha Kessler in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville. He was a retired farmer from the Morrisonville area. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville and a former member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Morrisonville American Legion and the Knights of Columbus in Taylorville.
Surviving are his wife, Martha; children: Raymond (wife Diane) Borgic of Des Plaines, IL, Barbara Ann (husband John) Rankin of Fort Collins, CO, John E. (wife Bonnie) Borgic of Redding, CA, Vincent E. Borgic of Joliet, Otto (wife Brenda) Borgic of Morrisonville, Dale A. Borgic of Morrisonville and Mark (wife Violet) Borgic of Taylorville; sister, Rita Marie Stoecker of Gillespie; two brothers, Erval (wife Betty) Borgic of Hillsboro and Wayne (wife Clara) Borgic of Pana; and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery, Palmer.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville.
