Sallie Elizabeth Ketron, 88, Kingsport, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ about 4 a.m. Friday (November 23, 2007) at her home.

Sallie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother whom dearly loved her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Ketron; two sons, Vernon Ketron and Jerry Ketron; two daughter, Thelma Johnson Ketron and Iva Jean Gilreath; her parents, Clifton Duckworth and Bertha Bolling Duckworth; two brothers, Deward Duckworth and Obie Duckworth; and two sisters, Katherine Miller and Mildred McCracken.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby and J. C. Bell, Rita and Leon Day, and Terry Childers; sons and daughters-in-law, Bearl and Elsie Ketron, Robert Ketron, Jr., Gerald Ketron, Paul Ketron, Sam Ketron, Daney Ketron, David and Lisa Ketron, all of Kingsport; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Walnut Chapel Church with Rev. Raymond Amos and Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.

Burial will follow at Walnut Chapel Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes to express a sincere appreciation for the care provided for Sallie by her therapist, Trevor Chow and Dr. Michael Smith and his staff.
