Andrus, 76, our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother, passed away quietly at his home in Draper, Utah on August 11, 1994, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 1, 1918 in Draper, Utah to Hulda Maria Rasmussen and Benjamin Franklin Andrus. His boyhood was spent with his father on the family farm. Graduated from Jordan High School in 1935. Fulfilled an honorable LDS Mission to the Northwestern States. Veteran of World War II, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served a total of three and a half years, with two and a half of those being spent in Africa. Married Janet Somerville on July 26, 1945 in the Logan LDS Temple. He owned and operated a registered Holstein dairy farm for many years and continued farming until his health limited his activities. He was a member of the Utah Farm Bureau Assoc. and an active member of the LDS Church, having served faithfully in many church positions.
Survived by his loving wife, Janet; and six children: Beverly (Wayne) Anderson, Laurie (Randy) Gerona, Wayne (Mary), Frank, Craig, Roger (Jolene); three brothers: Milton, Blaine, Devon; one sister, Thelma Tate; one stepbrother, Gilbert Rasmussen; one stepsister, Gladys Lund and 23 beautiful grandchildren.
Preceded in death by son, Timothy; parents, several brothers and a sister. Services will be held on Monday, August 15, 1994 at 1 p.m. at the Draper 7th LDS Ward chapel, 12300 South 600 East. Viewing will be held Sunday, August 14, 1994 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, and Monday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Draper Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Dietz, the Alta View Hospital Nurses, IHC Hospice Services, and especially to Pat Buniva.
