Douglas Jay Ackroyd, 67, passed away on February 5, 2013, in Provo, Utah. He was born on March 31, 1945, in Olds, Alberta, Canada, and was the son of Walter James Ackroyd and Ina Florence Jones Ackroyd.
Doug was raised in Tacoma, Washington. He served an LDS mission in the Southern States. He served in the US Air Force as an air traffic controller during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed in Italy. He graduated from BYU and was recently retired from the Utah Paratransit. He was married to his sweetheart Orimi Sipe on January 2, 1978; later sealed in the Provo Temple. Doug was a kind, patient, and gentle soul and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Orimi; children: Rory (Kim), Sean, Kimbra (Kevin), Jonathan (Tina), Alece, and Seth; grandchildren: Josh, Jaden, Marley, Grace, Hendrix, and Josslyn; and sister, Colleen.
