WALNUT COVE, NC ~ Mr. James Marshall Plummer, 85, died Saturday night, December 17, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 11, 1926 in Rockingham County to Chas N. and Anna Marshall Plummer. James was a member of Wayside Baptist Church, and was retired from Tultex with 44 years of service. A 2:00 pm Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Burroughs Chapel with the Rev. Billy Nelson, Rev. Tim Gammons and Rev. Bob Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow at Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Emmer Jean Wilson Plummer of Walnut Cove; by six daughters: Brenda Akers and fianc‚e, Rick Martin of King, Barbara Fredricks and husband, Al of Rural Hall, Mary Collins and husband, Thomas of Walnut Cove, Thelma McGee and husband, Eugene of Germanton, Linda Williams and husband, Johnny of Walnut Cove and Pat Williams and husband, Junior of Sandy Ridge; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Lawson of Pine Hall; and a special niece, Reva. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Stokes County, PO Box 863, Walnut Cove, NC 27052. Burroughs Funeral Home in Walnut Cove is serving the Plummer family.
