Died at Sioux City, Iowa, on Monday, July 30, David C. Cook, aged 77 years. Deceased was born in Scotland and came to this country at an early age. For many years he had been a resident of Darlington and was universally respected. A little over a year ago he went to visit his daughter, Mr. Wm. Ward of Sioux City, Iowa, with whom he stayed until the time of his death. Five children survive him, Mrs. Wm. Ward, Sioux City, David Cook Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. Jacob Haffele and Mrs. Chas. Staver, Seymour and Mrs. Thomas Major, Chicago.
The funeral was held Wednesday, the remains being laid to rest in the Union Grove cemetery.

Mason City- Nov. 17- David Cook, who has been a resident of this county for the past thirty eight years, died at his home in this city yesterday from hardening of the arteries. For years he was a prominent farmer and was highly successful in accumulating wealth. He leaves a wife, four sons, and one daughter, all grown. His youngest son, Charles, is a resident of San Diego, Calif., and is the only one unable to be present at the funeral services to be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
