Following a lingering illness with complications of ailments, Mrs. Ida Baker, highly esteemed resident of Pickard, died at the family home northwest of the town, at 12:45 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Baker, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mordecai McDonald, was a native of Clinton County and all her life had been spent in the vicinity of Pickard. She had been a life-long member of the Pickard M.E. Church and was known for her many acts of kindness and her sympathetic understanding of all with whom she came into contact.
The deceased, who was past sixty years of age, was united in marriage in early womanhood with Perry Baker, who survives, besides two sons, Gail and Clyde Baker. She is also survived by her father, and brother, Smith McDonald, and one sister, Mrs. James Brown.
Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, near Kirklin.
