Floyd became my loving foster father when I became he and my foster mother's foster daughter on September 3, 1964, the same year the Beloit Mall was built, originally built as the open-air Beloit Plaza and then referred to as the Beloit Plaza on Henry Avenue. In 1920, when a mere 11 yr. old child, Floyd resided with his widowed father and paternal grandmother, Francis J. Call at 1018 11th St., Beloit. Floyd probably attended Royce Elementary and did attended Lincoln Jr. High and graduated in 1926 from Beloit Memorial High School and served in the U.S. Army with Germany durint WWII. He experienced D-Day (Normandy) first hand as well as other skirmishes. He retired from Fairbanks Morse as a Watch Guard on Park Avenue. He was a member of Beloit's Neward VFW and attended Trinity Lutheran Church on Cranston Road in Beloit.
