Thelma June Cantrell Dick, 91 years of age, of Science Hill, Kentucky, departed this life and entered into eternal peace on Friday, February 8th, 2013 at Cumberland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Thelma was born in Pike County, Kentucky on May 6th, 1921, daughter of the late William Patrick and Vesta Alice Stone Cantrell. She was retired from the University of Kentucky as an administrative assistant. She was a housemother and homemaker. She was baptized into the Baptist faith and was a staunch believer in Jesus Christ. Thelma was a World War II Army veteran.

She was survived by several nieces and nephews, whom she loved and cherished; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Columbus C. Dick, whom she married on February 13th, 1957 and who departed this life on October 14th, 2002; her parents, William Patrick and Vesta Alice Cantrell; three brothers, Curtis Cantrell, John Albert Cantrell, and Ernest Cantrell; and two sisters, Mildred Cantrell Sandusky and Mary Cantrell Faust.

Visitations were held after 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 13th, 2013 in the Chapel of the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13th, 2013 at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Science Hill, Kentucky.

Burial followed in the Mount Zion Cemetery with military honors held by the American Legion Post No#38.
