Henry F. Tallmadge died at his home in this city Friday morning at 3:30 o'clock at the age of 72 years.

Mr. Tallmadge was a veteran of the civil war, having enlisted in company A, thirtieth Wisconsin volunteer infantry. In 1915 he was made post commander of the G.A.R in this city and served in that capacity for two years. The family is descended from an officer who served in the revolutionary war and Mr. Tallmadge belonged to the Society of the Cincinnati.

Besides his wife, Mr. Tallmadge is survived by four sons - Ed of Chicago, and Ben, Chester and Floyd, who live in the west. The latter was mayor of Momence several years ago.

A grandson, "Tobey" Tallmadge, is a member of the royal flying corps of Great Britain. He also has seen service with an American ambulance corps in France.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Episcopal church, the Rev. R.F. Kelcher officiating.

H.F. Tallmadge was a descendent of Benjamin Tallmadge, who was born at Setanket, Long Island, Feb. 25, 1754 and graduated from Yale College in 1773. He became principal of a high school at Wethersfield, Conn., and later enlisted in a Connecticut regiment and served in the war of the revolution.

Henry F. Tallmadge was a son of Montgomery and Nancie A. Tallmadge and was born Nov. 7, 1846. He was one of nine children.
